ITVDesk 10.4 update overview
Version 10.4.0 (Build 7.7.11.2), released on July 24, 2026, expands ITVDesk support across Linux ARM64, Linux x86_64, macOS, Wayland, and X11 environments while improving camera integration, network configuration, secure service diagnostics, and application recovery.
Optional Hikvision and RTSP client compatibility
ITVDesk 10.4 adds optional compatibility settings for supported Hikvision native discovery workflows and RTSP clients that expect advertised stream URLs without the explicit default port 554.
The compatibility option is intended for integrations that require this URL format. Existing standard ONVIF and RTSP behavior remains available for other VMS, NVR, and RTSP client deployments.
Native Linux ARM64 support
A native Linux ARM64 build is now available for compatible 64-bit ARM devices and systems. The ARM64 package extends ITVDesk deployment options while retaining the established virtual IP camera workflow used on other supported platforms.
Linux and ARM64 portability has also been improved to support deployment across a broader range of current Linux environments.
Application monitoring for Linux and macOS
ITVDesk now provides optional application monitoring for Linux ARM64, Linux x86_64, and macOS. When enabled, the Watcher can automatically recover ITVDesk after an unexpected application failure and help keep Kiosk Mode available.

Wayland desktop capture and global hotkeys
Linux desktop capture now supports Wayland environments used by newer Ubuntu releases while retaining compatibility with X11 systems. Computer Screen Live and Combine media have also been improved for newer Linux desktop environments.
Wayland applies stricter desktop security policies than X11. Depending on the distribution and desktop configuration, Linux may request user authorization for screen sharing or for the Ctrl+Alt+I global shortcut. These prompts are controlled by the operating system and should be approved only for the intended ITVDesk session.
External Access and RTSP-over-UDP reliability
External Access setup is more responsive and predictable when a router is unavailable. Port-mapping operations now complete without waiting indefinitely for a router response, helping administrators identify unavailable UPnP or network conditions more quickly.
Optional RTSP-over-UDP external access also uses a more practical configurable port range for deployments that require UDP media transport.
RTSP-over-HTTP and RTSP-over-HTTPS tunneling
RTSP-over-HTTP and RTSP-over-HTTPS tunnel connections now use each ITVDesk IPCam's existing ONVIF HTTP or HTTPS service port. This provides a simpler and more consistent camera-integration model for VMS/NVR systems that use tunneled RTSP transport.
HTTP and HTTPS tunnel modes can now be enabled or disabled independently. Changing a tunnel option does not disable normal ONVIF, RTSP, or RTSPS access.
IPCam configuration and port validation
Camera settings are handled more safely during Auto IP refresh and when IPCams are added, removed, or selected quickly. Camera and channel actions now remain more stable during rapid UI selection changes.
ONVIF HTTP/HTTPS port validation has also been improved:
- Auto IP and manually assigned addresses are distinguished more accurately.
- The same service port can be used on different fixed IP addresses where the network configuration allows it.
- Conflicts caused by an Auto IP address change are detected more reliably.
- ITVDesk selects the next available port automatically when required.
ONVIF HTTPS certificate diagnostics
ITVDesk now prevents ONVIF HTTPS from being enabled when the required TLS certificate or private key is unavailable. Service information also provides clearer diagnostics when a certificate or key cannot be used.
This avoids presenting an HTTPS service as enabled when its required cryptographic material is incomplete or unavailable.
Identification, discovery, and license reliability
Virtual IPCam identification has been improved for supported network discovery tools. This helps compatible tools and integration workflows identify ITVDesk virtual cameras more consistently.
License activation and local license-state consistency are also more reliable during application updates, reinstalls, and recovery from incomplete application data.

Recommended after updating
- Choose the correct x86_64 or ARM64 AppImage for the target Linux system.
- On Wayland, approve screen-sharing or global-shortcut access only when requested for the intended ITVDesk session.
- Enable the optional Watcher where automatic recovery and Kiosk Mode continuity are required.
- Use the Hikvision or RTSP URL compatibility option only for clients that require the default-port-free URL format.
- Revalidate External Access, tunnel modes, ONVIF HTTP/HTTPS ports, and TLS certificate status after changing network settings.
