ITVDesk 10.5 update overview

AXIS Camera Station Pro integration
ITVDesk 10.5 adds support for AXIS Camera Station Pro integration workflows. ITVDesk virtual IP cameras can be connected to supported AXIS Camera Station Pro environments using the available ONVIF and RTSP integration methods.
ONVIF multi-channel handling has been improved for AXIS Camera Station Pro and other compatible VMS/NVR systems. Stream profiles created automatically by a VMS are now assigned more reliably to the correct ITVDesk video channel, including ITVDesk cameras that expose multiple media sources.
Expanded ONVIF profile capacity
ONVIF Media1 and Media2 now support up to 256 fixed and dynamic profiles per ITVDesk ONVIF camera. This provides additional profile capacity for larger multi-channel deployments and VMS environments that create profiles dynamically.
Changing the default live-stream profile from AXIS Camera Station Pro or another VMS/NVR client is also more stable. Dynamically created ONVIF profiles now use their own runtime stream resources while retaining the required profile configuration.
Linux Wayland NO VIDEO handling
On supported Linux Wayland environments, ITVDesk can keep a configured stream available with a NO VIDEO state when the selected monitor becomes unavailable or is disconnected. This gives the VMS/NVR a continuous and explicit stream state instead of leaving the video source without a usable frame.
Linux Wayland support and AppImage integration have also been refined for current desktop environments.
External IP Camera profile handling
External IP Camera media profiles now retain the selected H.264 or H.265 codec more consistently when a source is added or edited. When the Edit interface cannot provide a new profile selection, ITVDesk preserves the source's current codec instead of replacing it unexpectedly.
Setup is also clearer when a complete RTSP or RTSPS URL containing credentials is pasted into ITVDesk. The username and password are moved automatically into their dedicated fields, while the stored media URL remains free of embedded credentials.
RTSP session shutdown reliability
Active IP Camera sessions now close more safely during Edit and Save operations, camera restarts, VMS/NVR client disconnects, and streaming-mode changes. The improved cleanup protects shared RTSP resources from concurrent shutdown and prevents a rare application failure or macOS interface freeze.
Linux AppImage Auto Start
ITVDesk now validates and safely updates XDG startup entries on supported X11 and Wayland desktops. Auto Start can repair outdated AppImage paths and handle disabled or incomplete startup entries more reliably after an application update or package relocation.
ITVDesk startup reliability has also been improved on supported macOS and Linux platforms.
Recommended after updating
- Revalidate the intended ITVDesk channel and stream profile after adding the camera to AXIS Camera Station Pro or another multi-channel VMS.
- Confirm that each dynamically created VMS profile is associated with the expected ITVDesk media source.
- On Linux Wayland, test monitor disconnect and reconnect behavior for Computer Screen Live deployments.
- When editing an External IP Camera source, verify the selected H.264 or H.265 profile before restarting the camera.
- On Linux AppImage systems, confirm the Auto Start entry after moving or replacing the AppImage file.
