ITVDesk Pro IP Camera 11.1: Desktop Performance, Audio and ONVIF Reliability

ITVDesk 11.1 improves Windows desktop and audio capture performance, audio backchannel stability, HTTP/HTTPS tunneling, and ONVIF integration for professional VMS and NVR environments.

Release highlights

  • Windows desktop performance improves with FPS-paced frame processing and cached video conversion contexts. Local Windows VM tests delivered approximately 24.45 FPS at a 25 FPS target, compared with 18-19 FPS previously.
  • Audio and Talk reliability improves with safer session shutdown and stable RTSP URLs when Audio IN is enabled, changed, or disabled for local Desktop, Window, and Webcam streams.
  • HTTP/HTTPS tunneling handles fragmented stream-control data and repeated connection changes more reliably, including when multiple cameras or VMS/NVR clients are used.
  • ONVIF integration improves with HTTPS service discovery and replay updates. All 651 tests in the executed ONVIF Device Test Tool 26.06 test set passed with the tested device configuration for Profile T support.
  • Unicast and multicast streaming gains more reliable transport selection, shared multicast startup, and sender handover while retaining existing saved settings.

Reliability fixes

  • UI Protection now also locks Server Mode stop/configure and apply/start controls.
  • Corrected multicast transport retries and stream addresses, and prevented duplicate ONVIF analytics rule descriptions after camera reinitialization.

ITVDesk 11.1 update overview

Version 11.1.0 - Released on October 23, 2026

Improvements

  • Improved audio capture performance and stability.
  • Improved Windows desktop capture performance and stability, with frame processing paced to the configured FPS.

Local Windows VM RTSP performance tests at 2560x1440 and a 25 FPS target delivered approximately 24.45 FPS versus 18-19 FPS previously, a 29-36% increase in delivered frame rate.

  • Optimized video conversion with per-encoder context caching and reuse, delivering approximately 2-4% faster CPU pixel conversion in local benchmarks.
  • Replaced rand() with cryptographically secure random generation.
  • Added a Popup only action for Relay OUT notifications, alongside the existing application, command, and computer actions.

An editable "ITVDesk alert" message is provided when no popup text has been set.

  • Verified ONVIF Profile T support with ONVIF Device Test Tool 26.06.

All 651 ONVIF tests in the executed test set passed with the tested device configuration.

  • Improved ONVIF discovery MessageID generation with random UUIDs for more reliable operation with multiple ITVDesk instances and NVR/VMS clients.
  • Improved ONVIF Replay to respect the requested playback time range and reliably resume audio after PAUSE/PLAY.
  • Improved audio backchannel stability and orderly shutdown of Talk sessions, preventing invalid-socket errors during normal disconnection.
  • Improved RTSP-over-HTTP/HTTPS reliability for NVR/VMS streaming and Talk sessions.

Each session now tracks fragmented raw GET packets separately from POST control data, preventing incomplete RTCP packets from consuming PLAY or TEARDOWN commands.

Closing a session detaches its HTTP connections before the session slot is reused, preventing late tunnel data from reaching a closed or newly assigned session.

These changes improve stream control and Talk session cleanup when multiple cameras or NVR/VMS clients are used and connections are repeatedly opened and closed. Both HTTP and HTTPS tunnels use the same improved handling.

  • Enabled audio backchannel by default on new installations with G711U, 8000 Hz, Mono, and Follow camera Audio IN format disabled.

Existing saved settings are retained, and backchannel can still be disabled.

  • Local Desktop, Window, and Webcam streams now keep the same RTSP URL when Audio IN is enabled, changed, or disabled.

New local channels, including those added through Edit IPCam, select available Speaker/loopback audio by default on Windows. macOS and Linux retain manual audio selection. Existing saved audio selections and Disable settings are retained.

  • Improved automatic ONVIF setup over HTTPS for compatible NVR/VMS clients.

Supported Events, Imaging, recording/search/replay, and other available services are now included in service discovery, allowing clients to identify event notifications, image controls, and recorded-video playback through the configured HTTPS endpoint.

  • Improved unicast and multicast transport selection for compatible NVR/DVR/VMS clients.

Standard RTSP URLs default to unicast. When multicast is enabled, clients can request it through ONVIF Media1/Media2 or RTSP while other clients continue using unicast TCP/UDP.

  • Enabled ONVIF RTP multicast support by default on new installations.

Existing saved settings are retained, including disabled selections. Older configurations without a multicast setting keep their previous disabled default.

Fixes

  • Prevented duplicate ONVIF analytics rule descriptions when a camera is reinitialized.
  • UI Protection now also locks the Server Mode stop/configure and apply/start controls.

Unlocking restores their availability according to the current server state.

  • Fixed shared RTP multicast startup and sender handover.

Multicast playback no longer waits for the client that requested the stream description first. If the sending RTSP session disconnects, another eligible RTP multicast session can take over while existing unicast sessions retain their own streams. SRTP sender ownership retains its existing behavior.

  • Corrected multicast transport retries and requests without an explicit RTP port, preventing reuse of a previous unicast client port.

Requests for disabled multicast or multicast with interleaved TCP transport are rejected before changing the transport state of an existing unicast session.

  • Corrected ONVIF Media1/Media2 multicast stream addresses when a saved URL contains a unicast transport hint.

Explicit multicast requests now take precedence, including profiles that append encoder settings; stored profile URLs and unicast responses are retained.
